Gas fire suppression
Demand for Apreco fire suppression vents is increasing with the recognised need for over-pressure venting associated with high pressure pressure Gas Fire Suppression Systems.
With inert gases and mixtures being supplied in high volumes to reduce oxygen concentration to suppress a fire, there is potential to cause structural damage if no means of pressure venting is provided. Buildings are most commonly designed to withstand internal pressures of 500Pa, though this can vary depending on the type of construction.
Apreco FSV and Amax pressure relief vents are designed to prevent the risks of over pressurisation resulting from the use of gas fire suppression systems. The FSV range of pressure relief vents have been successfully tested to EN1363-1 criteria to provide a 2-hour fire resistance rating. Please Click here for further product information.
Specifically developed for this application, the range can be used alongside a wide range of gas fire suppression systems to prevent structural damage and risk to personnel.
The vents can provide up to 85% free venting area (FVA), thus reducing the space taken up by the units and the cost of installation.
Maximum room pressure is controlled by the vents opening to allow air to escape, then closing when discharge is complete. This maintains the dilution of the air, so preventing re-ignition.
Units can be designed to order in a selection of frame materials and construction*. Operation is non-electrical for increased safety and both fixed and site-adjustable pressure settings are available.
The range of options include low loss external weather louvres, internal egg crate cover grilles and dust screens.
If it can be done we’ll do it!
